Australian Terminal Operations Management (ATOM) is a company dedicated to operating 3rd party bulk fuel facilities safely, reliably and effectively for its customers.

Formed in 2015 ATOM is a joint venture between BP, one of the largest oil & gas companies in the world, and UGL a leading provider of end-to-end outsourced engineering, asset management, and maintenance services in Australia.

We specialise in managing all aspects of terminal activities for our customers ranging from the storage and handling of bulk liquid fuels to maintenance and engineering services.

With a head office in Melbourne, ATOM currently operates and maintains 17 bulk fuel terminals across Australia.

Our priorities are simple. To deliver safe, reliable and effective terminal operations, maintenance and engineering services for our customers wherever we operate.

ATOM is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace where everyone goes home safely every day. We strive to minimise the environmental impact of our operations and contribute where possible to the communities around us. We are focused on identifying, assessing and reducing where possible risks associated with our activities and complying with all relevant legislation. We actively monitor the barriers that mitigate these risks and aim to maintain their effectiveness through our HSSE Management systems which aligns to AS4801, ISO 14001 and the relevant major hazard facility requirements.

Ensuring product is unloaded, stored and loaded reliably for our customers to meet their needs is critical to our success. We have a diverse, talented and responsive team who are proud to deliver excellence in what we do – operating terminals. While a relatively new company, our staff and contractors have extensive experience in managing bulk liquid fuels, some having devoted their entire career to terminals management. With robust operating, product quality and asset management systems in place we can adapt to meet the existing and future needs of our customers. In providing maintenance and engineering services, ATOM leverages the resources of UGL, as its main contractor. This provides ATOM with access to significant engineering resources and sub-contractors allowing us to meet peaks and troughs that occur with new projects or larger maintenance tasks quickly and easily.

We constantly look for opportunities to add value for our customer via innovation, simplification, risk analysis, and improved efficiency. We aim to deliver a secure and responsive supply of product and achieve a high standard of HSE performance while striking the optimal balance of cost against key customer drivers.
